I don't see why someone would pay that much for an old version.
Support is one of the most important reasons for buying a package, but
I don't think they would support one that old. Or do they?

Well, we continue to use versions 3.0 and and 3.1, and Freescale still
respond to my technical requests - including a recent one regarding
a licensing issue for v3.0.

For what it's worth, most of the queries I have had over the last three
years have in any case been related to the chips, rather than the
software.

Anyway, the auction expires at 15:20 BST on Wednesday 26th, so if
anyone would like to place a bid, there isn't much time left!

Steve M.

In that case I might agree up to $1000 USD. Most companies would
determine the value to decay at an exponential rate when new versions
are released. You're hoping for near the price I think I could have
purchased it for when it was new. Of course I had to go through
Motorola reps to get a discount, but wasn't hard when we'd already
been buying Motorola MCU for years.

OTOH if a company looks at the standalone value of this, it certainly
is a rare opportunity and a valuable unlimited license.
