DG128 Programming Problem - Jeff - Jan 19 16:48:45 2007
I am having an issue with my new board that has an 9SDG128 chip. It
is a LFEBS12UB student development board.
The board has an onboard BDM.
Originally the power was disconnected during reprogramming and I could
only get into the bootloader but could not flash a new program. But
now I can't even get into the bootloader. I have both a serial
interface and a BDM interface cable that I can use to program the chip.
What I am assuming is that I erased the bootloader but I have no idea
how to reflash to bootloader. Can anyone help?
I'm sorry if this is simple to do but I am new to development these chips.
Let me know if there is any more information necessary.
Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff,
If it is the POD MCU that lost the bootloader then you need another BDM
POD to load the bootloader (or bootloader and D-Bug12) into Flash.
The S-Records for both the bootloader and D-Bug12 are on the CD in the
DBug12 folder.
Hope this helps,

OK, which files need to be loaded for the bootloader? I have am
assuming 'BootEVB-8.S19'.
Also, using another BDM how would I load this into the flash? Would I
just use the hyperterminal loading of the file or do I nned to user
the 'BDM Interface' cable and some other program?
Thanks for your help.

Yes that is the correct file. The other BDM POD needs to be connected
to the 'TOOL BDM IN' connector. Then you use whatever program came with
the other POD.

That did it. Thanks for your help.
