URGENT! temperature sensor - rachit_biyani - Apr 2 23:24:27 2007
Hello guys,
I am taking a course in microprocessor interfacing. i am working on
the hcs12 9s12c32 microcontroller. My project is related to
interfacing a temperature sensor to the microcontroller.(to make a
digital thermometer) I searched online but was unable to find a
suitable temperature sensor. Can anyone here tell me about what
temperature sensor I can interface to the microproecssor? I am pretty
new to this so I dont have a good idea.
Looking forward to hearing from some one
Thanks

There are a ton of temperature sensor ICs that will connect to your QSPI our
I2C bus. Check out www.analog.com, www.ti.com, www.microchip.com (i.e,
TC72).

If you don't want to use an integrated circuit, you can use the LM35
temperature sensor and interface it to the analog-to-digital converter.

I don't think you can beat an spi/ic solution for quickness and
convenience. I used a maxim chip for this little NE64 server at
http://temp.web.net that checks the ac in a server machine room where I
used to work.
