maybe you should try a battery?

Yes, but the question is: where should this battery be placed? Do we need 4
1.5V AA batteries and then regulate the voltage down to 5V?

You asked a question I was wondering about for quiet some time! I remember
some of my friends using a direct connection from AA batteries to the Handy
Board (68HC11-based kit)... the board kept resetting itself when they
attempted to download their assembly or C files to it....

Any experts ?
