LCD assistance - gregmaaha - Apr 19 11:22:34 2007

I am using the MC9S12DP512 chip and was hoping that someone could
assist me with getting started using an LCD. This will be going into
an embedded system and I would prefer to use the serial interface.
I've had trouble finding any samples of this and without seeing it
done at all, I do not know where to begin. All I need is some basic
code to get me started with simple output to the LCD, I can take it
from there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time,
Greg

You don't specify but I assume you are referring to a typical 14pin lcd
module powered by a Hitachi HD44780 driver chip. If by serial you are
referring to the SPI, it isn't difficult to convert the serial info into
the 6 parallel lines required for 4bit mode via a HC595. Offline me if
this is what you're seeking.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the LCD I am attempting to use is the
Matrix Orbital GLC24064 (64 x 240 graphic LCD). Thanks again.
