TwinPEEKs Problem Maybe? - paulwilliam_pwilliams - Dec 29 10:14:15 2007
Hi all hope everyones Christmas went well.
Hopefully an easy problem (for my sake anyway).
the other night i programmed my CardS12.D64 micro (MC9S12D64) with a
program, that didn't work correctly.
when i tried to reset the MCU to try and erase the program from memory
to re-program it, there was no response in the OCConsole window. there
also appears to be no data being sent from the MCU to the computer (I
am using a USB to serial converter that has worked as i programmed and
reprogrammed a couple of times that night).
data does appear to be flowing to the MCU as the LED within the
USB-2-serial is flashing, but nothing appears to be happening.
Any suggestions on the cause and possible solution to the problem
would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Paul

Older TwinPEEKS, for D60A/DG128A used a jumper between PTH6 and PTH7 (IIRC)
to autostart loaded program on reset. Do you have something connected to
these pins? Could one of these pins got zapped?

I do not have anything connected to these pins. As you state I use these
pins to auto start the loaded program on reset, but nothing happens appears
to happen on either the OConsole or the Terminal program. No data is being
sent from the MCU to initiate communication. It appears that the MCU is
starting into a program without regard for the state of the PTH6 and PTH7
status.

I have a CardS12. The company I work for also bought the license for
the TwinPEEKS code for customization.
For the CardS12, to program the chip or run the program you must have
the H6 and H7 pins open/shorted -- what works to program the chip do
the opposite for running. That is how TwinPEEKS determines to run the
monitor or the user program.

I have programmed the device previously and run it with various programs. I
have checked the connection and all is OK. Short together to run a program.
Open to program device(ie let TwinPEEks run).
H6 and H7 are open circuit but nothing appears to happen.
