Anyone have a part number for a shrouded 2x3 connector for the BDM pod (PCB mount). We were using .100 center headers but we want a keyed connector. Any suggestions are appreciated. Jared [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

If we need it keyed, we chop off a pin, and insert one of those little plastic keying pins into the female connector. If a suitable version of D-Bug12 is loaded into the EVB's flash memory, the EVB can function as a BDM host, controlling an HC12/HCS12 target on another board. In this setup, the BDM out connector on the EVB goes to the BDM input of the target. I use a M68HC12B32EVB in this mode to program the boot code onto the 812A4 board I'm working on. The boot code then loads the rest of the firmware. Stephen -- Stephen Trier Technical Development Lab Cleveland FES Center / CWRU / KG8IH |

Hi, some HC12 EVBs can be used as a BDM pod, provided D-Bug12 (by Gordon Doughman) is running. A short example of using it is here (German text): http://www.elektronikladen.de/b32evb.html Happy HC12ing! Can be recommended for BDM and even the Mon08 interface instead of using 10 or 16 pins to fit the P&E cable |

Less than 10 pins may be difficult. I suggest going directly to the manufacurer's sites. AMP/TYCO, 3M, CW, etc. DigiKey has direct links to their sites. Search for suitable 10 pin connectors and then follow the links. The only source I have ever found for this is the Berg Quickie III series. The 2x3 connector is part 71600-306 The 2x3 header, which is a latching only, is 71918-106 Both are available from Allied Electric Check out http://www.alliedelec.com/catalog/catalogpages/2002/302.pdf Another option is to snip one of the unused pins on the header, and use a polarization key on your female connector. I agree that it would have been nice of Motorola would have used a more 'common' part.
