MC9S12A256B vs MC9S12DP256B (and CodeWarrior) - varneybob - Jan 22 19:03:00 2003

I'm using CodeWarrior for HC(S)12. We've been using an eval board
with the MC9S12DP256B MCU, but are actual MCU is the MC9S12A256B. I
cannot get CodeWarrior to talk to the MCU via the P&E BDM Multilink
cable. Also CodeWarrior, does not list the MC9S12A256B in a MCU-ID
drop-down list (it _does_ list the MC9S12DP256B).

Any help would be appreciated!

Re: MC9S12A256B vs MC9S12DP256B (and CodeWarrior) - Wayne Bui - Jan 22 19:28:00 2003

I had the same problem like you have. After
troubleshooting, I have found out that the PLL circuit
was not installed on my 9S12A256 bread board. When I
switch to use the external clock, it worked fine.

varneybob,

If you are still on the base V1.2 install, you need to upgrade a bunch
of files (headers, P&E driver, more) - contact metrowerks.
I went through the same thing on an A series part. They just aren't
supported in off the 1.2 CD install.

Access to these update files would be much appreciated.

I've emailed Metrowerks but have not heard back yet. Is there any
way you can post all the necessary files somewhere?

Re: MC9S12A256B vs MC9S12DP256B (and CodeWarrior) - varneybob - Jan 23 9:13:00 2003

Actually I just programmed the MC9S12A256B part with the MC9S12DP256B
settings from CodeWarrior V1.2! We found out that the MCU was being
held in reset because of a fault on our text fixture. Everything is
going smooth for the moment.

And as a side note, the Metrowerks website has a little blurb that
CodeWarrior 2.0 for HC(S)12 is available for download, but darn if I
could find it anywhere.

Thanks.
