DP256 lockup - frank - Jun 19 18:52:00 2003

Hi,

I am using the DP256 - did some extensive debugging in software. Did not write to flash or EEPROM but I have lost the CPU while downloading via Zap and P&E multi link. I tried unsecure form P&E but it did not help this time. The funny thing is i did not do any strang prodding etc. I just clicked the download button and its dead now. Not even unsecure can rectify this. Im running at 50mHz at the moment.

I tried the development tool suite on another board - all OK. All else checks out fine. Any clues

What is the latest mask - since I am new with the Motorola processors. The DP256 is my first experience with the Motorola processors, how stable and bug free is this core?

Thanks

Hi,

I am glad (an very :) to state that I massaged my DP256 back to live!! The lockup or BDM lockout occured with a faulty code image downloaded to the CPU running with a clock osc. at 50Mhz. The P&E unsecure software could not reverse this condition....... so I slapped a 4Mhz clock osc. in the system and shes back on line!!!

Remember the trick, might just save some sorry ass oneday!!
