For users of the Atmel AT91SAM7 and AT91SAM9 ARM CPU chips. Atmel has taken a new direction by combining on chip flash and ram with the ARM CPU on a single die. This provides low cost devices for small systems using the ARM CPU. This group is to exchange information to help users get started and learn how to use the devices.

How to open ttyS3 in AT9aSAM9260? - pratibha_275 - Jul 7 2:43:55 2009

Hi!
Actually i want to use an extra COMPORT in AT91SAM9260.
Lie my ttyS1,ttyS2 ports i am not being able to open ttyS3 as i have mknode it in my /dev folder but still i am getting an error message
"/dev/ttyS3: No such device or directory ".
I think the driver should be the same for all the ports. Is there any other thing to do? What should I do?

Hi,

Do you have geTTY daemons running for those ports ?
In any case, just creating the dev won't "create" new tty ports.
