This is normally an AVR list but I can recommend for PIC's that you look
around the Microchip site for the various Application Notes and projects.
There are literally hundreds of application notes on the Microchip
website.

There used to be some user projects such as a mosquito repeller that
generated bursts synthesizing the sounds of the dragonfly wings.
Dragonflies are mosquito predators. I built one of these. The jury is
still out on whether it works; sometimes it seems to work fine and other
times it doesn't.

Anyway, prowl around here for a while and remember Google is your friend:

What kind of project e.g. a easy one or hard one?

If it good you could gear it up to sell to some magazine like Elektor
Electronics
and get real extra success from your project maybe even some money back
