[AVR club] help me please - Belal - Oct 7 8:43:56 2006

hi friends,
i have a graduation project using PLC and barcode reader.
but i have a problem
i want to classify the barcode without connecting the reader with
PLC
directly.
i want to connect the reader to a Microcontroller circuit. noted
that
the output of the reader is through a serial port.

this circuit will take the signal from the reader and classifing it
according to microcontroller program and sending a new signal to the
PLC.
an output signal from different pins in the microcontroller will be
sent to different inputs pins in the PLC to classify it.

summary: i want a circuit which compaire the output signal of the
reader with a stored data in it and classify it as a type one or
type two and send a signal from output pin no. 1 for type one and
from output pin no. 2 for type two to the PLC input pins no. 1 & 2.

please, tell me how to do that
i want to know how to connect the reader with the
microcontroller via serial port and read data from it??

and what is the suitable microcontroller could be used??

thank you all my friend.
