[AVR club] Looking for a SRAM module for AT90USBKEY eval board - Bryan Harstad - May 10 22:10:07 2007

I am looking for a SRAM module that could be easily wired to the pads
that are on the AT90USBKey

The AT90USBKey is a nice small cheap Eval stick that plugs into the USB
port, and is programmable thru that port, it also has USB-OTG
capability (i believe it was around $30)

The AT90USB Processor has the following interface to external SRAM
• AD7:0: Multiplexed low-order address bus and data bus.
• A15:8: High-order address bus (configurable number of bits).
• ALE: Address latch enable.
• RD: Read strobe.
• WR: Write strobe.

It would be nice to find a SRAM module that is compatible with above.
I am more of a software geek then a hardware nerd, need some help. I
realize that it is hard to find 64K modules, if SRAM module is bigger
then 64K, I can always tie the unused address line/CS to ground.

Any suggestions?

I got 2 personal responses to this post, that both talked about using
latches and ram chips, etc...that is too 'sparky' for me.

I am looking for a module/daughter card that, where I only need to wire
the necassary data/addr/ctrl lines from that module/daughter board to
the pads on the USBKEY.

Thanks.

Re: [AVR club] Looking for a SRAM module for AT90USBKEY eval board - Bryan Harstad - May 25 23:14:05 2007

Thanks, but again, it looks like I still need a latch.

Let me try to make it a little more clear, (why is email so bad at
trying to make things clear?)

I am looking for a module that has the following interface, ready to
be wire wrapped, NO EXTRA COMPONENTS, ETC...

The AT90USB Processor has the following interface to external SRAM
• AD7:0: Multiplexed low-order address bus and data bus.
• A15:8: High-order address bus (configurable number of bits).
• ALE: Address latch enable.
• RD: Read strobe.
• WR: Write strobe.

If it has extra address lines, I can always to them to ground.
