hi;
maybe you set the microcontroller into "external
clock"
mode. if this happens, you have to clock the XTAL1 pin
using an external clock source (like 555) or use a
programmer like AvReal32 which could generate clocks
itself (on the LED pin in programmer schematic used by
ponyprog). At the other hand, you can reset it's fuse
bits using a High Voltage (12V) programmer in parallel
programming mode used commonly by general programmer
devices.
