Hi,

For AVR, Winavr-Gcc is free available compiler.

You can use Programmers notepad as an editor.

Or after downloading Winavr the compiler, you can download avrstudio 4.13
freely available on Atmel site.

Use this as editor.

I am working on developing a protocol stack and i require an easily
available software for compiling my code and generatinh the hex files
actually this is my first time working on the avr recently i used atmel
controllers only and i used KEIL
can u tell about any such software for ATmega32?

Dear Adnan,
Install Avr Studio 4.13.xxx version. Download Winavr patch,install it check the box during project configuration.this is basically GNU compiler, Pls also help me , send me some C code regarding peripherals use of avr.it is urgent.Can you also let me know what is your protocol stack.
