Frustration - Ray Pope - Feb 17 7:17:00 2000

It would be nice to easily locate the latest compiler
donwload at the BasicX website.

I have looked and looked. Is it there? Am I just
overlooking something?

Just a hint.

Here ya go. The docs and software are buried under the "transfer" folder.

I have wondered why NetMedia does NOT put a link to that location on their
Homepage! I notice that the NetMedia guys are quiet about this in Digest
Number 133.

It is curious, some kind of attempt to restrict access to the software?

RE: RE:Frustration - Chris Harriman - Feb 17 15:42:00 2000

The link to the BasicX software download area is provided with every
development kit purchase, and I think it's also in the docs.

Since our compiler download is about 9MB we only want BasicX customers
Downloading it. With the amount of hits BasicX.com gets If the download
link was published on our web-site every tom, dick and Harry with no
intention
of ever buying our products would download it just to "check it out" and
kill our
servers bandwidth.

So, if you guys don't mind your downloads taking a lot longer to complete
Just say the word and we will make a public link to the download area.

Chris

Thanks for the insight. Can't say that I blame you.

Makes sense.

RE: RE:Frustration - Tony Brenke - Feb 19 1:54:00 2000

I would tend to agree with Chris and with Ray.
by going to the message board I found the softwhere
anyway.

and now that I have used it I have 2 BX-01's on the
way. I am an avid user of VB6 and developing in there
and using your softwhere to compile and download the
programs will be a brease.

keep the link to the download off the main page.
if people are serious about finding it, They can.

I have been unable to find any references to this link in my development
kit.
I recently received the yellow dot upgrade for my BX-24 and have not had
any luck getting it to work with the original compiler. Could you please
send
me some information on how to find the upgrade? This is a real nuisance.
