Things I would like to see - Plotter - Schatzie Walton - Mar 7 10:53:00 2000

In early February, Parallax introduced Stamp Plot freeware for
graphical presentation on the PC monitor (the program is actually
tucked away in "Stamps In Class", a non-freeware pro version is
supposedly on its way) - all the dlls necessary to talk with the PC
etc. on a 'scope like screen. I can think of about a dozen aps with
the 8 adc ports on the BX24 (bye-bye pen-plotter!)

Of course, it's possible to do it in VB or QBasic interfacing the
parallel or serial port to the BX24, but if I wanted to do things the
"hard way" I would be
programming PIC's!

I would like to see the same type of program for the BX-24.

I haven't seen any of the Stamp stuff and maybe it already does this but it
would be cool to build the BX downloader into a DLL so that a VB program
could invoke the 'scope DLL, which invokes the downloader and provides the
BX program to it. The downloader programs the BX and starts it. That would
let VB users avoid the BX side of things completely, and BX program upgrades
would be as simple as getting a new DLL from a website. -----Original Message-----

Hi all, I just found out about the BX24 and I'm hoping to get my
hands on one soon. I am the programmer for the plot program
mentioned. We are developing some curriculum for Parallax and a good
analog/digital plotting program was needed for it.

I'd like to see what I have written of the Pro version is compatible
with the BX. It'll have a lot of good features for saving,
recalling, snapshots, etc.

Hopefully, I'll have my hands on a BX24 soon, and I'm dying to try
out the controller!
