Product Ideas - Jack Schoof - Apr 14 18:15:00 2000

What types of products would you like to see NetMedia develop that use the BasicX technology. Please try to think of wide application projects and not just ones for yourself.

For example, we are creating a family of controllers using the BasicX as the core, called ControlX. They will be pluggable and have relays, triacs, analog inputs and outputs, power supply. Being modular you can make systems up to 128 relays or lots of inputs and outputs. If you need another set of relays, just plug them in... We will have a formal press release soon for you to read, so dont ask about this stuff yet. The email list will be the first to know.

How about some other ideas? Robotics, motor control, data logging?

We want to make stuff that you need!!!

I would like to have a replacment for my old alarm
clock.

it was a programable timmer with 3 plugins.
1 for the light 1 for the radio.

I was never late for work with that clock. --- Jack Schoof <> wrote:

Re: Product Ideas - Schatzie Walton - Apr 14 19:58:00 2000

I think that one of the best things to develop is CStr! (This is some
long gestation period for this function - but it would help greatly
interfacing the monitor.)

For data logging and data presentation, it would be helpful to be
able
to write in the x and y coordinates - I am thinking of uses in which
frequency is on the x axis in logarithmic terms. StampPlot for the
BX24, but with that particular utility.

I am particularly interested in instrumentation which I can build
that
is able to talk to the serial/parallel/USB port.

Lastly, price will determine the number of applications. Given this,
however, the help from yourself, Chris and Frank on this ng is a big
plus. --- In , "Jack Schoof" <jschoof@n...> wrote:

Multipoint RF communications systems that includes an encoder/decoder
interface to a BasicX processor.

RE: Product Ideas - Tim - Apr 15 14:21:00 2000

My guess is that this is already in the works.
The best of BX-1 and the BX24 combined.
Meaning Analog inputs combined with networking ability, this would seamless
for distributed data acquisition. Rather than having to add on analog
hardware to the BX-1.

Thanks! -----Original Message-----

RE: Product Ideas - Victorf - Apr 16 5:46:00 2000

How about putting some of your development time/effort into making the
manual set more comprehensive and building an excellent on-line help system
for the development environment. Products should not be released with
inadequate documentation. Mike Blier's posting in digest number 192 is a
case in point. (Subject LCD+ docs).

In stead of more i'd like too have better A/d converters in the bx-24 I need
12 bit at least
and only 10 bit is given. -----Original Message-----

What about networking (Ethernet, TCP/IP)?
