BasicX 24 w/ Lynxmotion Atom Bot Board - tieutaydoc - Nov 14 4:32:00 2005

Hi I just bought a BasicX 24 mircocontroller along with a Lynxmotion
Atom Bot Board. This is my first microcontroller. Although I have used
a 68CH11 at shchool so I do know a bit about how to use one. So here's
my problem. I've tried running a few programs and everythign seems to
be ok except I can't seem to get any reading on the I/O pins. I tried
running the simple switch on/off program and all I get is "on." I've
also tried run the GP2D12 program to test w/ my IR sensor and I keep
getting one value.I've read the manuals for both the atom bot board and
the basic x24 forward and backward and I am 100% sure that i connect
the pins correctly. Can anyone who has experience with either one of
these products please help me.
Thank you,
Jimmy

It may be as simple as a power issue. Do you have a common ground?

Is accessory device power up? Can you test the output of the
accessory manually? Apply a voltage or ground to the I/O pins and see
if you can read the correct I/O values. -Tony

If you've read all the docs, you are probably doing this right, but...

The pin numbers on the bot board are for BS2/Atom. The BasicX pins
are numbered differently. You add 5 to the bot board pin number to
get to the BasicX pin number. So pin 0 on the board = pin 5 in BasicX
basic. Pin 12 on the board = pin 17 in BasicX basic.

I have the same combo and it is a nice little starter board/chip.

Yes thank you everyone. It was in the wrong pin.
