can buy all your supplies and learn how to set up a development system on a
solderless breadboard. Peter also offers a number of publications and books
that will easily get you started.

I just use the BasicX for robotics but I started with a BasicX development
board (the small one) and for software its free on the basicx website (
www.basicx.com). There's also tons of documentation online and on
robot-electronics (www.robot-electronics.co.uk)
