2nd of 2 Questions: Processor Speed vs XTAL - bobbymcgill2007 - Jan 17 10:35:25 2008

Hi all - I have 2 questions that I am separating into different posts
to hopefully avoid any confusion.

Second question:
Regarding my previous post - we can make the program work up to a
serial data rate (input) of 12K. (This is NOT the com port data rate!)

I can increase the baud rate of Com1 to handle 408600 successfully,
but the input serial data speed to my circuit is limited to 12K -
after which the interrupt rate is too high, and bits are dropped.

I read that the BX24 is based on an Atmel 8535 chip, and the
documentation there seems to indicate that it should run faster than
the results I am seeing.

My question: (Finally - I know you have been waiting for it!)
Is it possible to speed the execution of the program with a different
Oscillator? I see the little blue one soldered onto the board - but I
don't know what speed it is running at. Could a faster one be substituted?

Thanks.
