I've used
http://www.expresspcb.com/ExpressPCBHtm/Download.htm
For my projects, you can get a online qoute for custom boards.
If you can design within their 2.5" x 3.8" board it is three
for $51.00.

Hi,
I used this printed circuit board from radio shack for my prototype projects. Check
it out online to see if this is what are your looking. You can order it online or
you can buy it in the nearest radio shack store.

The board is 3.75 x 2.81.

Universal Component PC
Board with 780 Holes

Model: 276-168??|? Catalog #: 276-168

price is? $3.49

I was designing in house test fixtures.
For me it worked well, I needed many different PCBs and was able to
put them on one blank.
I hope this helps.

Do you have a link the actual page on the Radio Shack website? I
think I can imagine the boards you are referring to but it would be
nice to be able to see them.

$ 51 for 3 tiny boards does seem pretty pricy to a hobbyist on this
side of the pond. Of course the Express PCB boards are professionally
done and are good for those working towards production.

Does anyone know of cheaper suppliers for singles or small
quantities, perhaps from east or central Europe?

Thanks

Re: Need input on PCBoard Prototype - "joseph.dugay" - May 2 20:18:54 2008

Depending what you were looking for in prototype board, you have some
options. Custom designing your own is an option, but for only a
quantity of a few can be expensive.

I have used prototype boards from MELabs (expensive), Olimex and also
ones from pcboard.ca. They have a couple of different models
depending on the PIC chips you are using (28, 18 and 40-pin models)
and have lots of room for doing your own thing on them. Just picked
up some of the Proto-40 and received them in about six days - take a
look at http://www.pcboard.ca/Kits/Proto40/
