Hi,
You do not mention what type of tx/rx you want. There are different type of tx/rx. Here is a link for a rf serial tx/rx used in building robot.

Do you have any more information regarding your requirements? I have found
the XBEE's to be great radios and a great price but they may be overkill for
your application. There are some "chip" based radios that are around $5 if
I remember correctly but are limited in capability. Please give the group a
better idea of what you need. Thanks.
