Send Text to an LCD TV - dani...@amberjacksolutions.com - Feb 3 11:40:32 2009

Hi there
im new on this world, so im sorry if im saying something wrong or senseless.

I have 2 sensors, one is getting the moistness and the other is getting the temperature, and i want to send that information in real time to an LCD TV.
I have done some research on the internet and on this forum, and i found some devices that can make this possible:

OSD-232: http://www.icircuits.com/store/prod_osd232.html
Video Stamp: http://www.icircuits.com/store/prod_videostamp.html
XBOB4 & BoB4: http://www.decadenet.com/

- Which one do you recommend?
- Do you suggest other?
- Have anyone done this before that can explain to me the process between the BX and the LCD Tv?

I appreciate your time and patience.
TY

I've used the XBob 3 with a BX24 and it works great.

Here's a sample video I used the BX24 & XBob 3...

seems like the mailing list wraps the url if it's too long.

Goto http://www.livevideo.com/seemeride.com and it's the last video labeled
Deals Gap. It pulls data from the motorcycle and overlays it on the video
that is recorded.

RE: Re: Send Text to an LCD TV - Jim Fouch - Feb 5 6:59:58 2009

I'm not sure about the XBob 4, but the XBob 3 was not a bit mapped screen.
You could create a limited number of custom characters. That is how I did
the bar graph on the bottom of the screen.

I'm pretty sure the XBob 4 has commands for addressing every pixel.

Another option.... http://www.hittconsulting.com/hcosd.htm

This board is a bit more open in the fact that the designer released his
firmware source code so you could modify what is being done. All other ones
I have seen are a black box design where you work in the constraints of the
designers way of doing something. To modify the firmware, you would need
about a $30 interface key from Parallax.

Here is some features from their site.

* High Resolution 256 x 192 pixels
* NTSC or PAL
* PS/2 Keyboard interface
* Built-in Real Time Clock
* GPS Serial Input
* TTL or RS232 Serial Input
* EEPROM to store overlay image
