Voltage Regulator - dani...@amberjacksolutions.com - Oct 13 8:31:16 2009
Hi everyone!
I'm working with a BX24 and I'm trying to use the 5V that come from the pin21 to supply a
MAX146 that needs 2.7-3.3V.
For that I'm using the Voltage Regulator LM3940IT-3.3V
(http://pt.farnell.com/national-semiconductor/lm3940it-3-3/v-reg-ldo-3-3v-3940-to-220-3/dp/9494553?Ntt=949-4553)
My problem is that the output voltage from this voltage regulator is is almost the same as
the input voltage (around 5V instead of 3.3V)
Anyone have any idea why this Voltage regulator inst working?
Or inst suppose to work in this application?
Best regards,
Daniel Antunes

Daniel,
Check pins 1 and 3. Make sure you have the polarity correct. I can't think
of anything else that would cause that problem.

As Harry suggests, you might have it backwards - or the ground pin isn't
grounded, or the regulator has failed.

Sorry, guys
My mistake... I thought it would work without the capacitor connected to the output pin...
As soon as I plugged a 47uF capacitor, it started to work.
Thanx for your help anyway!

Daniel
