Basicx with Z-Wave Module and Systems - Patrick - Oct 19 12:42:43 2009

Hello,

I like to know if somebody on the list know how to use the Z Wave module with the Basicx.

I like to send simple commands to various (10) Plug In Appliance module to switch on and Off the power to the radiators connected to the Plug In Module.

How to do this simply with BasicX-24.
What interface from the Z-Wave module should I buy to connect to the controller?
I would prefer to send RS232 ASCII code because I am familiar with this and not at all with other type of connexion like USB.

Until now, I considered the X10 system which is very well documented, popular and not too expensive but not fully reliable especially with a 3 Phase 50 Hz wiring in Europe.

I also considered the PLCBUS but I will need to buy new stuff like expensive 3 phases coupler with the same risk with reliability with my 3 Phases wiring.

Thanks for your help for starting this project with Z Wave.
Patrick.
