Networking BX-24 - Andrew Preston - Aug 21 18:43:00 2000

I thinking about using some BX-24 for an upcoming project. It will require
a network of them to talk to a PC. Using 485 isn't a problem for the PC. If
necessary I can use a BX 01 to sit between the X24's and the PC. What is
the best way of networking the 24's ? can I simply put a 485 chip on the
X24 serial port and use a multi drop network to connect everything ? Any
ideas would be very much appreciated. Also , some of the X24's will be in
an enclosure along with the PC, but whatever network system is used must
allow for some more X24's to be optionally plugged into the main enclosure
to extend the system. Hope that all made sense ! cheers,

Andy Preston
