Compiler problem in Windows Me - Miguel Puchol - Feb 6 6:16:00 2001

Hi,

After having installed the BasicX compiler, V1.47, on the desktop PC running
Windows Millenium Ed. and then updated the DLL file as mentioned a few days
ago, I get the following errors when trying to compile:

- The ActiveX component could not be created.
- Error defining code boundaries.

Any ideas? The old DLL doesn't seem to work either. I haven't tried the
upgrade on my W2k-installed laptop, where the compiler runs OK, maybe it's a
problem with Me. (As in Millenium Edition, not 'Myself' :-))

Cheers all,

Mike

Mike,

It sounds like the BasicX software can't find the DLL. Did you put the new
DLL in the same
Directory as the old one? Did the BasicX software EVER work before you
changed DLLs?

This is identical to the problem I reported several days under Win2K. A
couple of other people responded the same way, and nobody reported success
IIRC. Netmedia has been silent on the subject.

Re: Compiler problem in Windows Me - James E. Hubbard, Jr. - Feb 12 10:24:00 2001

Mike;

We have had this problem. The solution is to either have a Windows 98 or
Win2000 interface between the application at the front end and millenium.
You need to set class path and class in autoexec.bat for the above mentioned
interface. This will solve the problem.

Matt,

Did you put the DLL in your windows system directory per the instructions?

How can you say NetMedia is being "Silent" on the DLL subject when you just
posted your comment on a NetMedia reply regarding this very subject?

RE: Compiler problem in Windows Me - Matthew Daughtrey - Feb 12 15:08:00 2001

Because they originally posted the fix 1/29. I tried the installation
(which failed exactly as below) and replied the same day, as did several
other people. Netmedia has posted no message addressing this problem.

Matt,

I looked at your e-mail regarding this and noticed you installed the DLL
into
Your system32 directory. Try putting the DLL in your system directory that
Should make it work.
