I´m new with the LCD+ and I need some help with LCD+ and the keypad interface. I have a 4x4 conductive rubber Grayhill keypad and sometimes when i hit some key from 1 to 3 row, the LCD+ show that key and the key for the same column in the 4 row (ej. I hit the key 2 and LCD+ show 20) Anyone have some idea? I need other type of keypad? |

I found that the cable from the Kp to the LCD needs to be real short ( about 6-8") and shielded, and the keypad needs to be sheilded, or at least a grounded earth plane on the back of the keypad, otherwise you get unpredictable results. neil wrote: > I´m new with the LCD+ and I need some help with LCD+ and the keypad > interface. > > I have a 4x4 conductive rubber Grayhill keypad and sometimes when i > hit some key from 1 to 3 row, the LCD+ show that key and the key for > the same column in the 4 row (ej. I make a shielded 6" long cable but with no luck (I ground the keypad with LCD+ together). Any other idea what could be happen? --- In basicx@y..., Neil Jepsen <jepsen@x> wrote: > I found that the cable from the Kp to the LCD needs to be real short ( > about 6-8") and shielded, and the keypad needs to be sheilded, or at > least a grounded earth plane on the back of the keypad, otherwise you > get unpredictable results. > neil > jdacostap@y... wrote: > > > I´m new with the LCD+ and I need some help with LCD+ and the keypad > > interface. > > > > I have a 4x4 conductive rubber Grayhill keypad and sometimes when i > > hit some key from 1 to 3 row, the LCD+ show that key and the key for > > the same column in the 4 row (ej. Make sure your BX and LCD+ share common ground also. -----Original Message----- From: [mailto:] Sent: Tuesday, August 07, 2001 8:06 AM To: Subject: [BasicX] Re: LCD+ and keypad trouble I make a shielded 6" long cable but with no luck (I ground the keypad with LCD+ together). Dan, I just testing the LCD+ with the keypad --- In basicx@y..., "Dan Bielecki" <Dan.Bielecki@A...> wrote: > Make sure your BX and LCD+ share common ground also. > > -----Original Message----- > From: jdacostap@y... Tell me what is happening, and send me your code? I had unpredictabvle results until I used sheilded cabel. The cable sheild must be earthed, and obviously the grounds all must be common. Also, don't use the screen as the earth return for the LCD. Now the LCd and KB are working perfectly. neil wrote: > I make a shielded 6" long cable but with no luck (I ground the keypad > with LCD+ together).
