MIDI Out - howieoakes - Mar 6 11:17:00 2002

Hello-

I have been trying in vain to get a MIDI out signal from the BX24. I
have everything wired up using the diagram at:

http://fargo.itp.tsoa.nyu.edu/~tigoe/pcomp/examples/midi.shtml

But I can't get it to work. Is it possible that my synth can't deal
with the baud rate being a little off? I would like to avoid changing
the crystal if I don't have to...are there other pitfalls to look out
for?

I noticed in some earlier posts that some people have used an
inverter on the output, and others have not...Was there a change in
the BX24 spec?

Thanks for any thoughts,
Howie

Sorry, I haven't used midi on the BX24 but I have been thinking about
it in connection with adding music generation capability to my robot.
Just curious - are you controlling a stand-alone synth or are you
controlling a chip? I am looking for simple synth chips and could use
suggestions.

Thanks,

Stan
