This list is for discussion of the design and implementation of field-programmable gate array based processors and integrated systems. It is also for discussion and community support of the XSOC Project (see http://www.fpgacpu.org/xsoc).

looking for Spartan-IIE dev boards - zeta94088 - May 17 18:51:00 2002

Has anyone used the Digilent Digilab 2E development board sold through
NuHorizons? How about its predecessor, Digilab 2? Any opinions on
their boards?

I want to design with the Spartan-IIE series and something with
100k-200k gates. It appears all the I/O pins are accessbible through
100mil pin spaced headers. I want to implement 8bit cpu, custom
datastream decoder, about dozen push buttons, SDRAM interface (8MB),
possibly a CF card interface (ATA), and I2C bus. I realize this will
take me some time, a lot of time to implement. My guess is that the
200k gates will likely be able to implement all my needs minus the ATA
interface.

- XC2S200E FPGA
- parallel port
- serial port
- jtag port

Suprisingly the Digilab 2E does not appear on Gigilentinc's webpage.
