What license fee and connector are you referrring to? The question I was responding to was "How much for a PCI core license?" The single use PCI core license with the proto board is $1,995.00. This is an NRE cost, buying the right to use the IP for multiple units of a single production design. Will Cummings Xilinx Dedicated FAE Insight Electronics, Inc. We can sell you a chip for $19.95 but you have a $49.99 license fee to use the latest motherboard bus and $35. specific connector. That's actually quite a reasonable price for a low-volume board manufacturer. But the $2K buys something that I don't need. Does Xilinx have a price for a license that includes no right to further distribute? Down the road, if I come up with a killer product, I'd be glad to share the wealth and buy another license that lets me distribute. -jc |

Wil Sorry. I thought you were from Xilinx. -jc > -----Original Message----- > From: Campbell, John [SMTP:] > Sent: Monday, October 02, 2000 1:51 PM > To: ' > Subject: RE: [fpga-cpu] Insight board (was Re: Yet Another RISC > Design (YA RD-1A)) > > Hi > > What license fee and connector are you referrring to? I'd suggest contacting Xilinx about an eval license for the PCI core.
