Welcome to October, 2000. This is the first instance of a quarterly message about the proper care and feeding of the fpga-cpu list (and is not in response to any specific recent message or thread). 1. Charter and Staying On Topic "This list is for discussion of the design and implementation of field-programmable gate array based processors and integrated systems. It is also for discussion and community support of the XSOC Project (see www.fpgacpu.org/xsoc)." We now have 120 subscribers. Please be considerate of their time and attention, and help to keep the list friendly, fresh, interesting, relevant, and useful, by staying on topic, by posting your ideas and insights and questions about FPGA CPUs and SoCs and XSOC and tools et cetera -- and conversely by taking any off-topic or "unlikely to be of general interest" discussions to another forum such as private email. 2. Advertising Brief announcements of new products, web sites, etc. are most welcome if and only if they pertain to the list charter. Please, no recruiter advertising. 3. Digest option An fpga-cpu subscriber may elect to receive a daily message digest instead of a separate message per message sent. First, register at www.egroups.com, then visit the Subscribe link at www.egroups.com/group/fpga-cpu, then subscribe or modify your subscription, selecting the 'digest' message delivery option. 4. Unsubscribe me! As the last line of every message says, "To Unsubscribe, send a blank message to: ". If you have any comments about the list, good or bad, or any suggestions, please write me directly and I'll see what I can do. Thank you all for your most interesting and helpful contributions.
