Hello helpers, I need to buy an FPGA to implement a 32-bit RISC-like processor. I found this board: APEX PCI Development Kit (APEX 20KE) from Altera (http://www.altera.com/products/devkits/kit-dev_platforms.jsp) Because I am not familiar with this or other development boards, I want to know whether this development board is suitable or not. If possible, please explain what Board ( Device size, memory, ..) should I buy? Please note that the Board's price is not impornat for me as long as the board can be used easily and can support all needed functions for a designer to download and test the processor. Thank you for your help, /Ben A. Hi, If you planning to do a RISC processor (a register-file). I would suggest going for a Xilinx FPGA since it have LUTRAM which is very beneficial for creating a register file. There are a number of boards which has a Xilinx FPGA. You can search some of the boards at this link http://www.xilinx.com/xlnx/xebiz/board_search.jsp Go"ran Bilski Ben A.
