I applaud the spectrum of implementation choices and the D-MIPS one-upsmanship. :-) Such versatile soft cores continue to improve, and will continue to mitigate the performance and cost advantages of hard cores and custom silicon both. One wonders how long the established 32-bit RISC IP companies can continue ignore the programmable logic soft core business opportunity? Nice work, Altera.
