This list is for discussion of the design and implementation of field-programmable gate array based processors and integrated systems. It is also for discussion and community support of the XSOC Project (see http://www.fpgacpu.org/xsoc).

FPGA soft processors at Hot Chips - Jan Gray - Aug 1 9:37:00 2005

I used to take vacation time to attend Hot Chips [hotchips.org] to learn
microprocessor design insights from the greats.

Now I see our own FPGA soft processor community is sufficiently interesting
that we warrant attention at this year's conference. Reviewing the (always
interesting) agenda, there are two sessions on reconfigurable processors and
the second one has presentations on Nios II and on Xilinx
SoCs[http://www.hotchips.org/hc17/program/conference_day_two.htm#session7].

I wish I could be there this year to catch the scuttlebutt.

Jan, thanks for mentioning Hot Chips and for getting
me interested in soft cpus in the first place.
Following your posting I signed up and just finish a
long day of tutorials.

If anyone else from this crowd show up, I'd be happy
to meet you there.

Re: FPGA soft processors at Hot Chips - James - Aug 15 10:23:00 2005

I'll be presenting Altera's Nios II at the conference Tuesday
afternoon.
Please come by and say "Hi" if you see me around.
