FPGA-CPU on Burched Spartan2 Board - Christian Plessl - Apr 30 6:51:00 2001

Hi!

Finally my mucht anticipated Burched Spartan2 evalboard
(www.burched.com.au) arrived.

I'm eager to start experimenting with FPGA CPUs. Did anybody try to adapt
XSOC to this board? Actually I would prefer using VHDL as HDL, so did
anybody make a port of XSOC to VHDL. I remember someone mentioning a port,
that he wanted to contribute back to Jan Gray. Any news on that topic?

Best regards
Christian

Dear Sir:
I have seen your board,and I think it's very
good. Now My board need a PLL IC ,so I think if you can
tell me the PLL IC's part name that you used. Thanks.

Best regards,
XueTao

I do not know about burched, but ICS525-01 is easy to get and easy to use.

Hi XueTao

The clock generator used is a ics-525-01

You can have a look at the datasheet at:

http://www.icst.com/pdf/ics5250102.pdf

Best regards,
Christian

Re: FPGA-CPU on Burched Spartan2 Board - Author Unknown - May 2 6:26:00 2001

Hi,

In fact, the BurchED B3-SPARTAN2+
http://www.burched.com.au/bedspartan2.html
and the B3-FPGA-CPU-IO
http://www.burched.com.au/bedfpgacpuio.html
both have ICS525-01R on-board.

The ICST devices are great - very versatile, and
easy to use. Data for them is at
http://www.icst.com/products/programmable.html
and the online calculator, at the ICST website,
calculates the header settings for the frequency
that you want to output (1MHz to 100MHz, with
a 3.3V supply). This is also really great!
http://www.icst.com/products/ics525inputForm.html

Hope that helps :)

Best regards
