VHDL Books - Holland Guldberg - May 1 12:34:00 2001

I am just starting out learning VHDL. We use Altera MAX/FLEX/APEX devices
and software mostly.

I am looking for VHDL book recommendations.

The Designer's Guide to VHDL by Peter J. Ashenden has gotten good reviews on
Amazon.

Digital Design with CPLD Applications and VHDL by Robert K. Dueck is
intriguing because he uses Altera Max Plus II software in his book. This
seems perfect for me.

What would you recommend? Are there any online tools you use?

There also seems to be a lot of VHDL references on line. I am in the process
of looking at them and deciding which one I like the best.

Thanks,
Holland.

Rapid Prototyping of Digital Systems by Hamblen and Furman (ISBN
0-7923-8604-3) is worth getting. It's something of a cookbook, but no worse
for that, and uses Altera hardware.
