I'm thinking of purchasing Rowley Associates' CrossWorks to use on a
dedicated embedded development PC. I want to run LINUX on this PC but
I could use some help in selecting a LINUX operating system. Rowely
states "CrossWorks has been tested on REDHAT 9.0" but that operating
system package seems to be very expensive (maybe I'm wrong). I'm
hoping to get some suggestions on a desktop Linux operating system that
has been running CrossWorks without many compatibility problems. Any
comments and suggestions?

Like most Linux distributions, I think you can download Redhat, but it will
take a long time, even with a fast broadband connection.

Like most Linux distributions, I think you can download Redhat, but it will

This would work equally well under RedHat's freely available Fedora
(Core 6 is out) - this is free. With a broadband connection, you can
download it and burn yourself a copy from: http://www.redhat.com/fedora/

As there has been a new release of Fedora, the Fedora page is down.
We won't check CrossWorks on each and every Linux distro. We test on what
customers use.
