Hi!!!!!! - Nimish Rao - Aug 3 4:50:21 2007

hi,
gee guys one more problm here is.i know i used a ulink adaptor to debug the
same. Now we know that the ulink adaptor does not support real time trace but
the thing is where from does the ulink adaptor get the trace info from(not
the real time trace) is it the ETM or the Embedded ICE logic, cos when i saw
the diagram of the ARM Macrocell the JTAG port has connection to both of
them. The question is not that complex but still guys would be greatful
Waiting for a reply guys....

Thanks
Nimish Rao

大意看懂了,不过你说的问题我不会呀,我也是刚学LPC2000
你知道 openTCP怎么移植到LPC2000上吗?

Your debugger gets it's information from the EmbeddedICE via the JTAG
port. There is no way to do real time trace that way since ARM must
switch into and out of debug mode for information to pass between the
debugger and hardware. When the Embedded Trace Macrocell is being used
by a debugger capable of using it, then the ETM is controlled via
JTAG, but it's output is via the ETM pins on the chip. Since ETM just
monitors ARM and does not interfere with it, it can trace in real
time. However, the trace parameters must be set up ahead of time via
the JTAG connection. With Lauterbach's Trace-32 both the ETM and JTAG
connections go to the debug pod, and that information all gets back to
the Trace-32 software via an Ethernet connection, with the hardware
setup that I have used.
