Hi folks, Anyone in the UK bought anything from Olimex? The Olimex site points you to Taylec, but Taylec have no mention of the ARM stuff on their web site, and no matter how many times you e-mail them they don't bother writing back! Of course, they have no phone number either which always makes me very suspicious! Cheers, Rob

I don't think Taylec are particularly effective. He asks you to sign a credit card form and fax it back, but after that I've always been informed when the good despatch and they take a week or so by surface mail and to clear customs (I usually order more than $100 worth of kit to qualify for free shipping). I believe you can also go for the express option and get it sooner by air. They are a solid operation, not a fly-by-night. -- Paul.

I've bought Olimex products (from their WWW site) and had them delivered to the UK without any problems. I have at least one colleague who has done the same. Hi Paul, I was speaking to a customer the other day (with my FAE hat on!) about ARM7s and recommending your compiler. It looks quite likely he's going to use one of the new Atmel SAM7 devices. Will you be supporting this family? Apparently, engineering samples are almost available, so if he goes for it, he'll be needing an IDE before *too* long. Cheers, Rob

Yes, the SAM devices are really pretty nice--sort of like the LPC2000 and STR7 devices, but Atmel's take on it. We don't have a SAM7 board yet, but when one arrives, we'll be adding support for it. Atmel promise we'll be one of the first to get one, but what this means is really rather vague. I think we're covering quite a range of devices and boards now. The devices with integrated flash are, of course, the easiest to target a toolset at hence the interest in the SAM7. Latest in the door is a rather large Cirrus part.
