Re: defecting to luminary? - Mark Butcher - Mar 23 0:46:43 2008
Hi All
Of course I am not promoting defecting from LPC to Luminary...
but I would like to point out that we now have a Luminary release of
the uTasker project (as we also have an LPC release supporting
LPC2101..6 and LPC23XX).
See the tutorial at
http://www.utasker.com/docs/LM3Sxxxx/uTaskerV1.3_LM3SXXXX.PDF
and the official announcement at:
http://www.utasker.com/forum/index.php?topic=212.0
If anyone is interested in trying out the Luminary parts, or the
uTasker on the LPC parts you are very welcome...
Best regards
Mark

Hi Mark. Great to hear. One note on your announcement: You point out
how much faster CM3 is than ARM7 running ARM code, but then give sizes
for ARM7 Thumb code. It is notable that running ARM7 Thumb code will
be a fair bit slower yet again. ARM7 Thumb is still bigger than the
CM3 Thumb2 and yet even slower.
Also, worth noting that many people see 2x difference in performance
when running same clock speed. But, it all depends on the instruction
mix (and how much the MAM is impacting you on LPC parts). Thanks, Paul

Hi All,
A little bit off-topic, but the new batch of the Luminary cortex parts has
killer prices! I hope it's not just a bait.

S.Sider.
