Hi, I ordered the IAR Kickstart kit for LPC2106 from the Philips web site. The kit arrived last week but contrary to the information on the site, it didn't contain the USB/JTAG cable. Philips are saying I should talk to IAR because it came from them, IAR are saying I should talk to Philips. I'm a contract designer who was planning to recommend these products to my client, if customer support is this good on 'day one', maybe I'd better offer another solution. Has anyone else bought this kit and if so what was your experience of it? Tony Jones |

Tony, You need to order the KickStart *Plus* kit to get the j-Link. Did you order the KickStart or KickStart Plus kit? -- Paul Curtis, Rowley Associates Ltd http://www.rowley.co.uk CrossWorks for MSP430, ARM, and (soon) Atmel AVR processors > -----Original Message----- > From: tonyjonez [mailto:] > Sent: 01 November 2004 13:01 > To: > Subject: [lpc2000] Philips/IAR Kickstart kit question > > Hi, > I ordered the IAR Kickstart kit for LPC2106 from the Philips > web site. Hi Paul, Thanks for the quick reply. I bought the kit from this page on the Philips web site... http://www.semiconductors.philips.com/markets/mms/products/microcontr ollers/support/development_tools/lpc2100/index.html Which links to this one on the IAR site... http://www.iar.com/Products/?name=KSDKLPC2106 Whatever the kit is called is seems clear it includes a USB/JTAG link. IAR(UK) agree but can't help unless it's by selling me another kit. It's getting to be a common problem, particularly with design tools. Manufacturers want to reduce costs by consolidating manufacture and shipment to global hubs, which would be fine if they'd back it up with some global support. Hi I have also a IAR Kickstart board with J-Link. I use Crossworks not IAR compiler. The Kickstart board is the only board I have seen that support both JTAG1 and JTAG2. Most boards only support JTAG1 and you looose alot of I/O Pin. Very good board. best regards John Noergaard --- In , "tonyjonez" <tonyjonez@y...> wrote: > > Hi, > I ordered the IAR Kickstart kit for LPC2106 from the Philips web > site.
