Dear Forum, I currently have a design which uses the PSD913F2-90F flash-PLD device. I was trying to purchase some more chips for a new design but my local supplier has informed me that they believe this device is now obsolete. I have checked the ST site and emailed them without any success. Do any of the members know the status of this device? If it is gone but not forgotten, is there a direct replacement? With thanks, PFC. |

Are you sure it's the 913 and not 813, I have used the PSD813F2... http://www.st.com/stonline/bin/sftab.exe?table=453&filter0=PSD813F2 Darren > -----Original Message----- > From: [mailto:] > Dear Forum, > I currently have a design which uses the PSD913F2-90F > flash-PLD device. The PSD913F2 has been replaced by its' superset brethren, the PSD813F2, as have other similar 9XX devices. Please see the following notification: http://www.st.com/stonline/prodpres/memory/psd/pdf/mpgps005.pdf They are fit/form/function drop-in replacements. Sorry to hear you couldn't get thru via email. Darren, Yes it is the 913 device. The original supplier of this device has a small number of these still available. We ship a product with a PSD chip hooked up to a 68HC11E1. We too went through some
panic when we were told the 913 was obsolete. Reached ST and were told to order the
equivalent 813. Made the transition from 913 to 813 without any trouble. No changes were
needed to hardware or software. Hope this is reassuring. Oops! Lets try without the line wrapping! http://us.st.com/stonline/products/families/memories/psm/soft_c2.htm There are two versions. One is an upgrade from version 7.0 (or later) and the other is version 8.00. I haven't tried 8.00 yet, but I haven't tried an 813 series PSD, either. |

We are going thru a worldwide web overhaul, and some links got hosed.. they should be back very shortly. You are correct, the 8xx parts will program with a 9xx project, and older versions will support, but I would recommend an upgrade as soon as available. By the way, the 8xx series has been supported since several years ago when I first started using PSDs, so I don't think one needs the latest version to work with the 8xx series. Also, I'm quite sure I once used the same configuration for both the 8xx and 9xx parts (same part number except for the first digit being an 8 or 9). So, it might be possible to use the 9xx setting and burn that into the 8xx part. If done this way, you might not be able to use the CPLD, however -- not sure. ----- Original Message ----- From: markscha <> To: <> Sent: Monday, October 13, 2003 3:07 PM Subject: [m68HC11] Re: PSD chip. > Oops!
