And Now for something completely different : Attack of the Clones - micr...@virginbroadband.com.au - Aug 14 8:40:28 2009

Has anyone ever noticed in 'Attack Of The Clones' that - despite hobbling
into the cave - Yoda
fights with Count Dooku, spinning around in a manner to make Bruce Lee
envious.... :-)
(his limp is the worst when he leaves the gunship after the fight at the
"amphi theater")

I mean, why does he need the cane in the first place anyway ?
Digital Yoda outperforms any cat fight !

Has anyone noticed that Lucas took all the fun out of Star Wars after, oh, I
dont know, The Empire Strikes Back?

Just. So. Bad.

Ok, Maybe after Return of the Jedi....but we could debate that...

George? Han shot first....just so you know.

And your lack of understanding is?

Of course he can spin like that, he's employing the force, no stress on
his physical body at all, unlike when he is walking normally. It would
be unYoda like to employ the force on a mere triviality like personal
comfort. And, as one with personal insights in this matter, I can
understand how the subsonic vibrations from the gunships drive
mechanisms would cause irritation to his spinal chord, thus causing an
increase in his discomfort, as evidenced by a more pronounced limp,
immediately after riding in such transportation. A similar short trip on
Transport SA left me on the floor unable to walk, obviously I am no Yoda.

Such increased activity in the spinal chord may even generate enough
energy to power an implanted MSP430 (keeping the post on topic), or,
should that fail, I'm sure the vibration through the floor could be
scavenged and used to power said MSP430.

Cheers

Hi Tony,

He seemed to have followed suit with 'The Crystal Skull' ....
I thought it wasn't too bad really, but it's no Raiders of the lost Ark
anymore :-(
Nothing to do with Ford's age btw - so what, we ALL get old(er).
Just seemed to reach for CGI way too easily...
You look at James Cameron in comparison - CGI seems to be his _last_
resort, not his _first_....

I disliked the Phantom Menace, thought was the Clones was OK and quite
liked the Sith Revenge (not for kiddies anymore !! :-)
But none of them had that magic or incredible dialogue anymore....

Perhaps we're getting older.. dunno.

Oh well, it could have been worse, it could have had Whoopi Goldberg in
it !!!!

I just keep watching Firefly or Serenity these days to relax, I'll
always be a big sucker for Josh Whedon.

Hi Kris I have to agree with you on that one. Firefly, and Serendity
were some of the best Scifi made recently. Off course they took it off,
it was too good, but then some redemption, Terminator, the Sarah Conner
Chronicles, better than most of the terminator films, and who can go
past River Tamm as a killer Android.

Obviously powered bya future generation MSP430, just to stay on topic

Re: OT - Re: And Now for something completely different : Attack of the Clones - Microbit_Ubuntu - Aug 14 10:44:28 2009

Whoa, I'm rather a big fan of TSCC (Terminator Chronicles) too.
I bought the Season 1 DVD box set a while ago and I love it.
(admittedly, I've always had a big thing for Summer Glau mind you, she
can put her shoes under my bed all right :-)
Strangely, having seen some of the S2 episodes, it seems to crumble more
& more half way through....

Well, Fox had to go and cancel it of course... Why not stay a-holes and
do what they did to Firefly....
(I know, I know, *theoretically* they didn't cancel TSCC - but I'll
never forgive them for Firefly).

To me Firefly is the best SciFi ever. -)

To stay topic, I'll try to muse over *what* exactly each of the 3 CPUs
does in Cameron's head.... (oh, that's only T-888s I guess :-)

"I call 9 mm"

Best Regards,
Kris
