I am new to msp430 world, please let me know the complete procedure, how to use MSPGCC in
linux in place of FET and CCE.

I use it on windows. But there is lots of information out there on
setting it up on linux. Follow the online steps.

I see no good reason, in 2009, to say this. The compiler produces first
class code from what I see. Eclipse has never crashed on me.
MSPGCC/Eclipse may not be as brainless to set up as 'professional'
software, but once up and running, you can create a 'professional'
product as easily as with 'professional' software. I've developed for
the 2012, 2013, 1121, and last the 1612.

Next is the 2132 and I just got an ES449 on ebay. The one thing I see is
that there are so few guys working on mspgcc, they are behind the curve
on newer devices. But it looks like they are getting the x4xx and x5xx
stuff settled in.
Some day I hope to spell 'professoinal' and do it with gcc.
