Hi,
does anybody heard about a stock outage of MSP430 ? Most distributors have no stock and talk about 14 to 20 weeks of lead time ! Is it a side effect of the financial crisis ?

By online distributors I mean the likes of Mouser and Digikey who have their invertory on-line. There is also South Components, K-1 technologies, Comsit and many others. Some of them might want to charge you 1.6 times their buying price, but you can get a reasonable price if you put a little presure on them or if you can show them the price of a competitor.
Some of these distributors are in the business of buying leftover stocks at discounted prices and then reselling them at competitive prices.

I attempted a small order of device samples a week or so ago, and ran into back-order problems for several devices in tssop packages (not just msp430 parts, but including a common type msp430f2132 I have in a design project.) This was the first time I'd seen this problem from TI in the last 4-5 years.

Not only TI microcontroller outage but I have 6 other TI parts that I am trying to cross
over to another vendor with stock.

Maybe more posts with more detail - I'm assuming others needed analog parts,
etc. - other than esoteric MSP430's.
