Reading MSP430F169 - pritam yadav - Oct 30 9:28:27 2009
Hi,
Is it possible to read the code of a MSP430F169? And use the same code on
another MSP430F169?
Please let me know.
Thank you!

Yes if the JTAG "Fuse" is not "blown".
Alternatively, if you can use BSL if you know the password.

Thanks for the reply! I tried reading the code using serial interface
'PRGS430' and did read the code successfully. Now, the code is in .hex
format and stored in text file.
Shall i directly program another processor using the code or do i need to
implement any changes?
Thank you!

It depends on whether you want any change.

I have seen proyects surfing the web regarding the hacking of the BSL
password of many MSP devices. I have seen some papers of how to hack
them by trial an error (since the password is a 32 bytes word, but
actually there are less combinations than 2^256)
I think, that is why texas is always upgrading their BSL protocol in
all their new series..
