I think I may have figured it out (though I haven't tested this).
Could the sonar sensor pulses be bouncing off the walls and being
received by different sensors which drives up ...

I got a workaround to work wonderfully by manually updating memory.
See my recent post - 37874. The only thing it requires is a little
