Should I remove the onboard speaker if I want to connect an 8ohm speaker? - Fiebigc - Feb 19 22:45:06 2008

I have an OOPic-R and I want to connect an 8 ohm speaker so I can have
a louder buzzer. Should I remove the onboard speaker if I want to
connect the speaker to I/O Line 21? Thanks.

Just putting an 8 ohm speaker on that line won't make it louder, it
might even make it quieter. You'll want to put an amplifier off of that
line, something like an LM386 should do it. And yes, you should remove
the piezo speaker to do this.
